"In the studio, you learn to conform—to submit yourself to the demands of your craft—so that you may finally be free." —Martha Graham |
Teacher
"Ken has been a strong force in a range of student related initiatives in our department. His work has been exemplary in its dedication, clarity and direction. His contributions to pedagogy and creative work have been most appreciated. Ken's continuous professional engagement with theater in the Bay Area and beyond has translated into stage work of the highest caliber for our program. His directing work, coupled with his production and technical theater expertise have resulted in some of our best rendered stage productions, and provided our majors with a powerful model of the kind of 'hands on' artist that we hope them to become. Ken has always shown great dedication to his students in the classroom. He teaches by example, continuing to work professionally as an actor/director more consistently than any other faculty in our theater concentration. It should be noted that Ken often finds ways to engage our students in his professional work off campus, providing them, and our program, with invaluable 'real world' training and exposure."
